Giles Watling MP today has attended a service in Parliament to celebrate Commonwealth Day, the theme of which this year is "One Resilient Common Future: Transforming our Common Wealth".
Speaking of the event, Mr Watling said:
"I've always said we must do more to awake the sleeping giant that is the Commonwealth - to pull together and tackle the issues we face head-on. I am proud to celebrate the Commonwealth today as the Chairman of the 1922 Foreign Affairs Policy Committee, as a Member of Parliament, and as a Commonwealth Briton. Together, we will overcome adversity to build a resilient common future."
Events are taking place across the world to mark the occasion, including an address from The King.
