Following his previous statement on Brexit (18th October 2019), and ahead of debates on the Withdrawal Agreement Bill, Giles said:

GILES CALLS ON THE CHANCELLOR TO AXE THE READING TAX

Giles Watling, MP for Clacton, joined the growing number of MPs and Peers calling on the Chancellor of the Exchequer to promote childhood literacy by cutting the illogical tax on eBooks and audiobooks in the next Budget.

STATEMENT ON BREXIT

Speaking ahead of Parliament sitting on 19th October 2019, Giles said:

Giles Watling, MP for Clacton, has welcomed the introduction of the landmark Environment Bill, which will tackle the biggest environmental priorities, and which constitutes a historic step change in the way the Government protects and enhances the natural environment.

GILES MEETS WITH GUIDE DOGS AT CONFERENCE

Giles Watling, MP for Clacton, met with the charity Guide Dogs at the Conservative Party conference, and discussed the challenges that blind and partially sighted people face when walking the streets, including pavement parking, street clutter, and shared spaces.
