Giles Watling, Member of Parliament for Clacton, recently visited the Clacton Enterprise Centre. Giles met with William Roberts, proprietor of the centre and discussed how he went from tenant to landlord and his plans for the future of the site.
William told Giles how he had been a tenant of the Clacton Enterprise Centre which, at that time Tendring District Council was the landlord. William jumped at the chance of running the facility and purchased the freehold just before Christmas from the local authority. William ensured all existing tenants were able to remain as such and is delighted to have been able to welcome new businesses into the facility. There are currently only two empty units out of the twenty one throughout the site.
William has an established business, MWP Frames Ltd, that specialise in the cladding sector. The company prides itself on their core values which are quality, efficiency and reliability.
MWP Frames Ltd believes that people are their main asset, and they try to create the best possible working environment and foster continuous training and development. It is their ethos and proven success that make them the ideal landlords for new companies looking to progress in their chosen field and benefit from William’s expertise.

“I absolutely love the ethos of the Clacton Enterprise Centre. William and his wife, Sonia, are keen to do all they can to help nurture their tenants, offering support and guidance where possible to help them succeed. It is fantastic seeing an established business support business start-ups. Not just that but the tenants are able to learn from each other as well, cross pollinating ideas, sharing success stories and learning from mistakes that others make.
When I was Regeneration Portfolio Holder at Tendring District Council, I was a keen supporter of the Enterprise Centre and I am delighted to see it flourishing now in a safe and enthusiastic pair of hands. I would like to thank William for inviting me to Clacton Enterprise Centre and I wish them, and all tenants, the very best of luck on their ventures.”
