Giles Watling MP, Member of Parliament for Clacton, has asked the Minister for Energy Security and Net Zero to confirm that no new pylons or substations will be built for wind farms in Essex so long as existing infrastructure exists and can be utilised.
Following a visit with Sir Bernard Jenkin MP, Member of Parliament for Harwich and North Essex, to the Outer Gabbard Wind Farm Array, Mr Watling has urged that the farm should use undersea cabling to connect to the national grid via the disused Bradwell site on the Dengie peninsula, rather than installing new pylons or substations to house and transfer the energy generated.
