Giles Watling MP, Member of Parliament for Clacton, on the 17th of May hosted the "Future of Stoma Care" debate in Westminster Hall.
With almost 200,000 people in the UK having a stoma - and over 300 in Clacton alone - Mr Watling was grateful to be joined by representatives from Stomas in Parliament and Coloplast UK to ask the Minister Will Quince what was being done by the Government to improve the quality of care for people with stomas.
Mr Watling recounted meeting Jessica, a 7 year old girl with a stoma, who documents her journey to shine light on the condition. Thanking her, he used a prosthetic stoma to raise awareness of the condition and shed light on the obstacles facing those with stomas.
