Giles Watling, MP for Clacton, has today spoken with Jeremy Cooper, Managing Director of Hedingham Omnibuses, and now understands that Hedingham will step in to provide replacement bus services running at roughly the same frequency.
This means that there is no break in public service, and Hedingham, who already have an existing depot up and running in Clacton, will scale up their operations to take on these additional services.
Hedingham have also won the contract from Essex County Council for evening buses in Clacton town from 29th July, and will become the major operator within the town.
Giles said: “It is great news that Hedingham will be stepping in to continue delivering these vital bus services. I look forward to working closely with them in the years ahead, and I will ensure that no section of our community becomes isolated due to changes in our public transport options.”
