Conservative candidate Giles Watling took Prime Minister David Cameron to see the £36 million sea defence project at Holland-on-Sea today.
As a member of Tendring District Council, Giles worked with his Conservative colleagues to secure the funding for the sea defences for the coast line between Clacton-on-Sea and Holland-on-Sea.
Giles Watling said:
"It was a privilege to show the Prime Minister the sea defences under construction at Holland-on-Sea. This scheme will secure the future of our seafront for generations to come, providing protection to more than 3,000 homes and businesses. It will also allow for greater use of the beaches ensuring our vibrant tourism industry is safeguarded."
David Cameron said:
"In Giles Watling we have a really first-class, hardworking local Conservative who has already done a lot for the district and who would make a great member of parliament."
